Calcium Silicate Insulation
Calcium silicate is used as a safe alternative to asbestos for high temperature insulation materials.
Features of Calcium Silicate insulation board and pipe insulation are
- light weight
- low thermal conductivity
- high temperature and chemical resistance
Calcium Silicate is a rigid, high density material suitable for high temperature applications ranging 250 oF (121 oC) - 1000 oF (540 oC).
Calcium Silicate thermal conductivity related to temperature are indicated in the charts below:
- compressive strength is good
- noncombustible
- T(oC) = 5/9[T(oF) - 32]
- 1 W/(m K) = 6.935 (Btu in)/(h ft² °F)
